Tswalu Kalahari 1

Early in the morning and late in the afternoon we were travelling with our jeep, Rudi the guide and Pete the tracker:

Twice we visited the cute meerkats (Erdmännchen auf Deutsch). They live together as either families or colonies and are really very funny and seem always to be very busy. By the way, the one standing on a bush or tree is the guardian, a role they rotate quite often:

The squirrels here seem to be downright copycats? Find the mistake in the lower right corner:

We also found a female cheetah with her son and on another day two cheetah brothers:

Two older male lions:

One female lion with two 4 months old babies and three 13 months old kids. The second female lion was absent, looking for food. These lions looked at us so trustingly that we would have liked to go close and cuddle them:

Between the safaris we could enjoy breakfast and lunch on the terrace. From here we could observe the animals that visited the waterhole and the birds waiting for bread crumbs.
